About
Hello,
Welcome to the site.
I am passionate about technology that empowers people, unlocks potential, and shares opportunity. I believe we have a moral imperative to ensure our technology is trustworthy, accessible, empathic, and as simple as the problem allows. Its purpose is to improve our world, not entrench its flaws.
I enjoy cooking, music, hiking, poetry, college basketball, and learning about the world. My interests span artificial intelligence, software engineering, ethics, business, and policy, especially where they intersect. At the heart of it all, I love asking why.
I’m optimistic about AI. It can lift bureaucratic burdens and free people to focus on what matters. With thoughtful guidance, AI can enable more abundance in resources, opportunities, and impact. The potential is enormous, and our chance to shape the future is only expanding. I feel fortunate to wake up each day and get a glimpse of it in my work and in the day-to-day.
Speaking of work, I’m currently an engineer at Kensho, where I help build machine learning systems. Lately, I’ve been leading S&P Global’s push to standardize data retrieval for agents, making customer systems more trustworthy and reliable. I’m also leading our AI-augmented engineering efforts, including revamping infrastructure and introducing coding tools that help our teams build faster and smarter.
I love working at the boundaries, whether it’s between technologies, teams, or disciplines.
In addition to Kensho, I manage Bear Track Lake Cabins with my mother. I hope to continue my father’s dream of sharing a unique piece of the Red River Gorge area with our guests while helping the local economy. I credit this work a lot with getting me into this industry and helping me realize the transformational ability of software—and the responsibility that comes with it.
You can find more information about my professional experience on my LinkedIn profile.
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I’m grateful their financial aid made a world-class education obtainable for me. I couldn’t decide between Computer Science and Philosophy, so I majored in both.
I now live with my wonderful partner Mrinalini in DC, but I grew up in the small town of Beattyville in southeastern Kentucky. I started the Appalachian Community Scholarship to give back to my school and community.
